Nasi Goreng: This Indonesian fried rice from February is my favourite plate from this year. Probably because I had to take out time from a busy weekday to go into the kitchen and experiment. And I loved the result, the riot of colours and that half fried egg deliciously sitting there. This picture reminds me of the joy in creating pretty things in the middle of packing, travelling, working and working out.
If there is anything I would want to take away from this year, it would be remembering that it is important to have hobbies, to try out new things, to keep growing as a person even when things return to “normal”.
